Starting near the harbour in the picturesque village of Nedstrand, this road takes you high up and rewards you with a beautiful view southwards towards islands in Ryfylke. Old and new houses stand together in harmony in this beautiful hill-side.
The different farms that are named Kleiberg lie a few hundred metres up the road. The name gives rise to one of the cache-owners' family name, and, at the time of writing, 96 others in Norway. This includes contemporary classical composer Ståle Kleiberg. The cache owner's ancestors moved to the nearby Sjernarøyane archipelago, which you can see across the fjord, in the late 1800s. Catch the car ferry from the village to go to cache-hunting on Sjernarøyane, Ombo or Finnøy, or continue on to the Stavanger region through tunnels connecting Finnøy and Rennesøy to the mainland. Alternatively, one can continue eastwards on the ferry and visit Foldøy, Hebnes or Jelsa, from which one can continue east in mainland Norway.
