This is the third in a series of seven caches on a walk from Calverton to, and through, Oxton village. After cache five you can return to Calverton via number six and the bypass to Oxton roundabout. There is parking in Mansfield Lane for two or three cars at N53.02.659, W001.04.817 and the start of the walk is off Carrington Lane. In Oxton Village you pass an excellent children’s playground at the Village Hall, ideal for a picnic stop, and look out for the Old Forge with its old fashioned petrol pump. Please be careful crossing the Oxton Bypass and the walk does include some roadside/verge walking.
