We chose this site because there is a weather station here that measures the height of the water in the Big Black And this is where the coldest weather ever recorded in Maine was recorded -50 degrees F.
It is a scenic location with good fishing. The cache is just a few feet from the parking area. DO NOT park on the bridge or in the road, huge logging trucks have the right of way and there is not enough room for the truck and any other vehicle.
The terrain difficulty is based on the remoteness of the territory in the North Maine Woods area. CONGRATULATIONS to Parmachenee for FTF.
