Geocache Description:

This small regular cache is hidden near town of Zasliai, marking the old Jewish cemetery.

In 1897 Zasliai was a busy town full of mostly business people, because town was build on a cross way. Before the WW2 1325 out of 1955 were Jewish. They had electricity, 49 shops (out of 50 total in town), three synagogues, school, bank and other organizations. After the beginning of WW2 number of Jews living in Zasliai decreased to zero till the end of WW2. Many of them were buried in nearby Jewish cemetery, which was abandoned until this year. It is being rebuilt and cleaned at the moment.
The cache is not hard to take when you find the fitting approach. Depending on your body structure, age and capabilities, you can go there alone, bring together a friend, or a rope. Its your call.
To get to the cemetery, just drive as close as possible (small field roads are OK there), and leave the car. You will need to take a 100-500m long hike.
