Rail ride # 11: Sleeping rough
From the wealth of Toorak to the other extreme of being homeless, it is estimated that hundreds of people sleep rough every night in Melbourne.
Alleyways and underneath bridges are places commonly used and so to was this location for many years. We would ride by and always see people sleeping on an old mattress or blankets until one year it was all fenced off. Don’t know if we can ever resolve this situation and it raised some confronting questions from the kids.
Please note that parking is not easy in this area so take the time to enjoy a walk on the track or better still ride it! ;-)
The cache is a custom Mirco built to blend in. There is no room for a pen, only a log. The cap on the cache is designed as a counter weight and should just slip in and out without turning. Please only open this one end.
