Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden at a lower platform at the cliff within a crevice. Do this cache only by day and if it's not too rainy/stormy because you have to climb down the last section.

It's not necessary to search at the very edge of the precipice. Please be very careful! Especially when accompanied by children. You are searching at your own risk!

Parking is available within short walking distance of the cache. George's Head is approx. 20 min walk from Kilkee town.

George's Head
Before the name George's Head was used by English speakers it is believed other names for the headland were Ceann Foirsigh (Dark Head) or Ceann Fuirse (The headland of the Churning) because of the spray or foam the Atlantic Ocean blown over the headland. Native Irish speakers usually called it by its much older name of Binn Bán or White Head. The word fuirse (churning) has a phonetic resemblance to the English name George (Seoirse in Irish) hence the modern name George's Head.

The cache is a rubber sealed snap lock container that contains logbook, pencil, badges, stickers, sea shells and a little wooden Irish dancer
