Hoosier_Reviewer: Attention cache owner,

It has been brought to my attention that the Charles C. Deam Wilderness area now prohibits geocaching.

The land managers have requested that we archive all active caches and prohibit all new caches. If you feel that there is an error and your cache isn't on their property, please email me at Hoosierreviewer@gmail.com

Thanks,

Geocache Description:

How do you like my fuzzy math? Terain and diffuculty. with a point added in for good measure.

This cache was set for those of you that want a challenge in both terrain and difficulty (just the kind of thing I like). I’m not sure this will live up to the rating I’m giving it, but I was so moved by the area that I wanted to set something larger than a micro. It’s hard to hide a regular size container well. This cache is findable; it’s just that you won’t trip over it. My GPS was showing a strong signal, but this is a deep ravine, so I’ve gone down to the cache site twice on two different days checking the cords for this one.

In searching for a place to set this cache I came across several beautiful places. Some of them reminded me of a rainforest with its moss covered logs and rocks and the ground covered in ferns. These places are also the most difficult to get to.

It is an easy short hike from the Hickory Ridge fire tower. Be sure to stop and take a look at the nearby pond. It is full of Cattails and water Lilies. I think the best time for finding this cache is on a summer morning before the sun gets too high. I’m sorry to say this area doesn’t have as much of a rainforest feel as other areas I’ve been to, but it’s still very nice. If you want to see the “rainforest,” drop down the ravine to the west of the nearby cache Up A Notch. Just don’t drop to fast.
