Take a short hike along the trail through the woods of the Malta Community Park. The hike can be moderately steep or fairly minimal depending on where you leave the trail. A bench is located near the place you leave the main trail.
Cache is a camo'd 6x4x2 cup and lock type of tupperware. The camo is ESSENTIAL to the hide; PLEASE REPLACE AS YOU FOUND!
My family and I LOVE this park! My daughter (who is autistic) loves to come here because of light sensitivity issues and because it's cool (both aesthetically and temperature wise)! She has named it the "Shady Park", hence the name of this cache.
The park is slightly off the "beaten path" but within a mile of Rt 9 and within 2 miles of exit 12 on the Northway. Parking is ample and not too far from the walking path through the woods. There is also a nice playground, soccer/baseball field, "beach" volleyball court, a pavillion with benches and BBQs, and a basketball court!
I think this is a place many geocachers will love and you might even meet us there!
NOTE: I have never seen a tic in all the years I've been coming here but plenty of mosquitos in the woods!
