Comet Elenin
Some have associated Nibiru with Comet Elenin a long-period comet discovered by Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin. On 16 October 2011, Elenin will make it's closest approach to the Earth at a distance of 0.2338 AU (21,730,000 mi) which is slightly closer than the planet Venus. This has led some conspiracy theorist to conclude that it is on a collision course with Earth, that it is as large as Jupiter or even a brown dwarf. Many believe that it's discoverer, Leonid Elenin, is, in fact, code for ELE, or an Extinction Level Event.
Although the sizes of comets are difficult to determine without close observation, skeptics claim that Elenin is likely to be less than 10 km in diameter. If Comet Elenin is indeed a brown dwarf, the gravitational effects on the inner solar system will be devastating, knocking Mars, Earth, Venus and the Moon out of orbit, scattering them like billiard balls throughout the solar system. Many 2012 theorist believe the Mayans predicted the return of a great comet prior to the end of the calendar. The skeptics claim that this is typical comet hysteria and if Comet Elenin was indeed a brown dwarf, we would be feeling the effects of it by now.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
