Geocache Description:

Named after our Geodog's favourite walk, Becky’s Run is a 3 mile circular route which follows the River Ouse to the pretty village of Piddinghoe.

The village was once a central player in Sussex smuggling. It is also notable for having the only remaining bottle-shaped brick kiln in the country. The route passes the village church which was originally built in the early 12th century, and is included in a list in the year 1121 of those churches given to the Priory of St Pancras in Lewes. St John's Church is one of three in the Ouse Valley with a round norman tower. The tower, surmounted by a wooden shingled octagonal spire is topped by a wind vane in the shape of a large gilded fish. Piddinghoe is regularly visited by sailing enthusiasts as the body of water by the village is a fine location for dinghy sailing in particular but also windsurfing.
On a clear day there are excellent views of the downs, including Mount Caburn and Beddingham Hill which can be identified by two transmitter masts. A more recent and controversial view is the Newhaven Incinerator on the opposite bank.
The majority of the route runs alongside the river so care should be taken with younger geocachers. It can also get quite muddy if it has been raining so a pair of good walking shoes or wellies are advisable. Unfortunately due to the nature of the path it is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs, but is an excellent route for geodogs!
There are three micro caches to be found – visiting each of these caches will give you the position of the main cache which is to be found on common land adjacent to Lewes Road, Newhaven. Limited parking is available in Robinson Road, where the start of the footpath can be found.
A certain amount of stealth is required as the route is popular with muggle dog walkers.

You are looking for a camouflaged micro cache which contains a logbook and a pencil. This cache also contains the third set of digits for the position of the main cache.
