Trastad er en gård i Kvæfjord kommune, og er mest kjent for å ha vært stedet for Nord-Norges åndssvakehjem, som var Nord-Norges diakonistiftelses institusjon for psykisk utviklingshemmede. Institusjonen ble lagt ned på grunn av HVPU-reformen i 1991, men Kvæfjord er fortsatt en omsorgskommune på grunn av at mange psykisk utviklingshemmede valgte å bosette seg i kommunen etter nedleggelsen.
På Trastad finner man Trastad Samlinger, landets eneste museum for de psykisk utviklingshemmedes historie generelt, for historien til Nord-Norges åndssvakehjem spesielt, samt utstillingsarena for kunst laget av psykisk utviklingshemmede.

Trastad is a farm in Kvæfjord municipality, and is most famous for having been the place for North Norway retarded home, which was Northern Norway Diaconal Board's institution for the mentally retarded. The institution was closed down because of the reform in 1991, but Kvæfjord is still a caring municipality due to the fact that many mentally retarded chose to settle in the municipality after the closure.
On Trastad find Trastad Collections, the country's only museum for the mentally retarded history in general, the history of North Norway's fatuous home in particular, as well as an exhibition venue for art made ??by mentally retarded.
