Celebration, Cuisine, Communion , and Coins

August 20th has been designated officially by Groundspeak as "International Geocaching Day" and this event is in celebration of that as well as a getting to know you event. Make plans to be with us as we celebrate the 11th year of the great hobby/sport we all enjoy. Sooooooooo...let's get together and have some fun, and bring your coins for discovery too.

When: Saturday, August 20th 1pm - 4pm

Where: What's the fun in telling you that - follow your GPSr...OK it's 150 Simuel Rd in Spartanburg

Who: Everyone!! the young, the young at heart, the curious, the new-to-geocaching, the experienced cacher.

What's going on: We will be celebrating the 1st International Geocaching Day by getting together with friends and meeting new ones. If you are new to geocaching in the Upstate area or have been in the game for a while this is the Meet & Greet for you. It is time to put some faces to the names you have been seeing on those logs recently. Plus, during the course of everything, you will get to see some cool coins.

Of course, there will be enough food for everyone. Cost breaks down as follows:
  • Adults $8.50 + tax & drink
  • Seniors $8.56; tax & drink included
  • Kids(4-7) $2.79; tax & drink included
  • Kids(8-11) $4.79; tax & drink included
NOTE: TO HELP DETERMINE HOW MUCH RESERVE SPACE IS NEEDED PLEASE INCLUDE IN YOUR "WILL ATTEND" HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE COMING WITH YOU. THANKS.

There will be both a kid door prize drawing & an adult door prize drawing at some point in the evening. If you would like to donate anything for either drawing, just bring it with you & set it on the table. A portion of the items for the drawing have been sponsored and provided by worldcaching.com. We will also have a raffle of coins and geocaching related items for anyone that would like to participate.

There will be coins, coins, coins...or at least I hope so. I know you have them. Now it's time to get them ready to show off. If you haven't activated them...activate them ( I am talking to myself on that one - still activated the AGT coins). If you don't have them ready...get them ready. Most important, bring them with you. We want to see them. There will be a table designated for everyone to set out their loot for others to enjoy and discover.

And lastly, come join us for a good time of fellowship. As our 1 year anniversary of geocaching approaches, I reflect back to all the people I have met along the way, and the friendships I have been blessed with. Geocaching to me is not necessarily about the destination, but the journey; and part of the journey is enjoying it with friends. So make plans to join us on August 20th to add to your journey of geocaching.
