Stift St. Georgen am Längsee / Convent St. Georgen am Längsee
Deutsch:
Vor über 1000 Jahren wurde das älteste noch bewohnte Kloster Kärntens von Wichburg, der Witwe des Grafen Otwin, gegründet.
1959 kaufte das Bistum Gurk die Liegenschaft St. Georgen und richtete ein bischöfliches Bildungshaus ein. Jahrzehntelang diente das Stift auch als Schulstandort.

So, nun zur Aufgabe:
Station 1:
Ihr startet bei den Headerkoordinaten. Hier findet Ihr ein Kunstwerk mit folgendem Text:
„Leben bedeutet nur vom Schoß der Mutter Erde getrennt zu sein. Tod ist eine Rückkehr.“

Solltet Ihr Interesse an der Kirche haben, auch diese ist zugänglich und durchaus sehenswert. Der Eingang befindet sich an der Südseite des Kirchenschiffs.
Station 2:
Geht nun durch den Hof Richtung Kirchturm. An der Seite des Kirchturms, vor dem Eingang der Krypta, befindet sich eine Engelsstatue.
Was hält diese in der Hand?

Station 3:
In NW- Richtung kommst du durch ein Eisentor in den Stiftsgarten.
Was siehst du geradeaus vor dir?

Station 4:
Geh nun erst nach links und biege bei der Kräuterspirale rechts ab.
An der rechten Seite entdeckst du…?

Station 5:
Begib dich nun zum Aussichtsplateau und dort findest du eine Säule.
Welche Form hat das obere Teil?
a) Rechteck E= 9
b) Dreieck E= 1

Finale:
Nun kannst du gemütlich die Finalkoordinaten berechnen:

Laut Information vor Ort sollten alle Stationen rund um die Uhr zugänglich sein.
Wünschenswert wäre es jedoch die Runde nicht in den Nachtstunden zu machen!

A thousand years ago the oldest and still used convent of Carinthia was founded by Wichburg the widow of count Otwin.
In 1959 the diocese of Gurk bought the convent St. Georgen and built an Episcopal educational institution. Many decades it also was used as a school.

If you are interested to visit the church you can do this as well. It is really beautiful and it should be open. You can enter it from the south side of the church.

Now go through the courtyard towards the church tower. There you find the statue of an angel on the right side of the crypt entrance.
