NOTE: Cache is NOT at the listed coordinates.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. LOOK for the telephone pole near Ground Zero. Getting there you'll see an abandoned road. This is the “Ghost” of Natoma Road. In fact you will be standing on the ghost road, because the pole is in a gully, approximately to the north.
2. On the utility pole you’ll see a vertical METAL BAND with the pole ID numbers starting with 1272XX.
3. The last two digits are the number of steps you are from the cache.
4. Standing on the ghost road, facing the POLE you are looking at the 12-O'Clock position The last (bottom) digit is the clock position to travel to. Example: 3 O’clock would be to your right, 6 O’clock directly behind you, etc. Walk towards the clock position indicated by the last digit.
5. It's near a tree. Very easy to find. Replace as found.
HISTORY:
"Natomas" is a Maidu Indian word meaning north place or upstream people. The Maidu branch of the Nisenan tribe has been living in the area for an estimated 8000 years prior to the coming of the Europeans. Natoma Street is one of the oldest thoroughfares in Folsom. It served the miners during the Gold Rush. When the Folsom Lake Crossing Bridge construction was completed in 2009, a new interchange was created for bridge traffic, and some of the old roadway was abandoned. This is the “Ghost” of Natoma Road. It is short stretch of crumbling concrete and persistent weeds. With its long history of foot and vehicle traffic, who’s to say whether or not any discarnate entities still linger in the area?
Warning: There are lots of weeds, ticks and other bugs in the area.
Wear protective clothing and bug spray.
PARKING
The best place to park is on Tacana street - - south on Hancock, then two lefts onto Tacana. There is a passage way through the fence that leads right to the cache.
If you have a driver with you, or you like to take risks, there is a pull out on the road, but it's right near a sign that says no parking, AND you know the prison is right across the street!
