North Lake is a 14 acre lake located in Rusk County. It has a maximum depth of 25 feet. Fish include Panfish and Largemouth Bass.
Nice ridge along the south side of North Lake. North Lake is far off the beaten path but has some nice Largemouth Bass and Bluegills.
There is a boat landing on the north side of the lake. I did haul a boat in on a trailer but I do not recommend it. There is a tight corner at the top trail going down. We had to unhook the trailer to get realigned down and around the corner.
There is private land around here so I put the 50 cal. ammo can on the south side of the lake just to be safe.
As you walk from the rocky road to the cache it is best to stay high on the ridge and not go straight at it through the bottom due to all the water and brush we found that way.
As we left some geese were coming in to land on the lake.
A nano and some micros are added to the road in to help navigate your 4x4 in and out of this trail system and as always stay on the main road. No motorized vehicles are supposed to leave the main road.
We left a FTF Micro Geocoin for the FTF. The container has some goodies and a nice view of North Lake. We hope you enjoy this area and take a few pictures.
