If you are a Geocacher in
the state of Washington, please join the Washington State
Geocaching Association. This is a great way to get the most out of
Geocaching in our region. Simply go to the WSGA Web Page for
details! |
This Meet and Greet will coincide with the
arrival of the David Thompson Columbia Brigade in Wenatchee,
Washington - on June 26, 2011 - at approximately 4 pm. A tent will
be set up with geocoins for discovery and trades. Look for sign-in
table and log book near the DTCB Geocaching Headquarters banner and
the WSGA Cache-cadian banner!
The David Thompson Columbia Brigade is
following the route taken by David Thompson, in 1811, that opened
up the transcontinental fur trade route that was used for over 50
years. As many as twelve, six-man North Canoes will be paddling
from Invermere, British Columbia Canada to Astoria, Oregon USA,
where they will land on July 15th - 200 years to the day that David
Thompson landed there.
Take advantage of this Meet and Greet to visit
with old geocaching friends and make new acquaintances. There are
geocachers on the Brigade from Alberta, British Columbia,
Washington and Wisconsin so this is an excellent opportunity to
expand your circle of 'geocaching friends'. The Related Web Page contains information about
additional geocaching events being held in conjunction with the
David Thompson Columbia Brigade Geocachers.
There are eight geocaches to be found within
walking distance of the geocache event and 100+ geocaches hidden
within a 2-mile radius of Confluence Park!
Please place this cache page on your
watchlist! Given that the co-hosts of this event are paddling down
a large river in canoes, the exact time of the event will be
updated as it is generated and confirmed. Each event along the
route will have door prize draws and free swag.
WSGA Cache-cadians were invited to create an
event cache to welcome the David Thompson Columbia Brigade
Geocachers. This cache event will coordinate with a series of
events on the Columbia River. See other caches:
