Geocache Description:

The cache is a small tupperware box hidden in the Coed Cefn Padrig woodlands adjacent to Sandy Water Park.

Sandy Water Park features a beautiful 16-acre lake that is a haven for all sorts of wildlife and has a resident flock of swans that can reach over 20 in number at certain times of the year.

It is part of Carmarthenshire's Millennium Coastal Park.

Overlooking the lake are the newly created woodlands of Coed Cefn Padrig. These are named after Saint Patrick who roamed the area in the 9th century. They are a great haven for birds (including the chiff chaff, willow warbler and blackcap) and small animal species.

There are several animal sculptures to be found throughout the woods, all created by local sculptors, some of which are based on animals found in the ancient Welsh folklore story "The Mabinogion"

A short sandy trail takes you to the area of the cache location in the centre of the woods.

The cache itself is a small tuperware "click lock" type box and contains a zip lock bag with log, pencil and sharpener along with a number of items to trade.

The cache location can be accessed on foot or bike.

Please leave the cache covered using the materials it was covered with when you found it - thanks.

Parking is nearby in the Sandy Water Park Short Stay Car Park and costs £0.55 for 1 hour and £1.10 for 2 hours (the machine does not give change).

The co-ordinates for this Car Park are N 51 40 824 W 004 10 509.

The footpath is also directly accessible from the Sustrans National Cycle network route 4.

Good Luck and happy hunting.
