Geocache Description:

CONGRATULATIONS TO grch for the FTF!

Traveling along Highway 34 out of Waldport there is a road sign to Five Rivers, Lobster Valley, and the Fisher Bridge that warranted investigation. Two years ago we placed four caches in this area and decided that we needed a couple more to entice folks out this way!

About three and half miles after the turn-off from Highway 34 is a split that separates Lobster Valley from Five Rivers, taking the road to the left leads to Lobster Valley. This is a scenic and remote valley where the road runs along the Lobster Creek. Apparently, the local crawdads or crayfish were mistaken for their much larger cousins in New England and probably were not quite the meal of the lobsters.

Just before coming to the collection of buildings that now comprise Lobster Valley, there is a bridge crossing the creek. It seemed fitting to place a cache there to give cachers a break before continuing on to the next two caches. This road ends in about 13 miles in Alsea which is on Highway 34.

The cache is a small camo lock-n-lock 2X3. As always, please watch for Elk and other native critters and non-native log trucks!
