The old Williamwood golf course
and clubhouse were completed in May 1909.
The official opening ceremony for the then new course and clubhouse
was a grand affair and took place on the sunny afternoon of
Saturday 5th June 1909 in the presence of a large number of
spectators. The members turned out in force and were joined in the
celebrations by various dignitairies, captains and other
representatives of neighbouring golf clubs who were invited by the
Committee of Management. The whole development had been well
planned and constructed and, by that time, the greens were already
in nice condition.

The Clubhouse, a fine two storey
building, occupying a good site was estimated to cost with
furnishings about £1700. In 1931 it was to become the Radleigh
School and it is still an imposing building which is now occupied
by a firm of accountants.
The current Williamwood Golf Club clubhouse on Clarkston Road, was
formally opened on Saturday 23rd April 1932 is about 1/2 mile as
the crow flies from the cache site.
