Geocache Description:

Medium camoflaged plastic bottle about 0.6 miles from the mostly flat trail entrance parking area to the OSV conservation area. Last 50 feet are in underbrush/forest on a hillside. Should be an easy find. Parking is at 42 05.8440, 72 05.4714 off Old Sturbridge Village Road and also at Shattuck Road lot. Should be findable in winter if not too much snow. The Blue Lagoon looks best in the summer sun but the southwestern end rarely freezes and shows the color.

The trail from the parking lot (take the obvious trail by the kiosk) goes through the old Camp Robinson property which is now a Sturbridge conservation property - hike, bike, dogs on leash, horse, ski all OK but not motorized vehicles. The uppermost pond across from the cache is a brilliant blue/bluegreen especially in the summer sun, hence the cache name, and I am told is a result of the seepage through the part of the pond mined for gravel years ago. Best to see the blue on a sunny day and a little further up the trail, btw.
