There is so much angst in the world today. You see it on the news.
In the economy. In the Middle East. And of course, on Grey’s
Anatomy.
Meredeth Grey – angst magnet.
With so much Angst in the world, and in Seattle Grace, we are
sometimes in need of diversions. Generally, at this time each year,
that diversion for many is the NFL Draft, whose first round will
take place in prime time on Thursday, April 28th. Unfortunately,
for Chiefs fans, this year that event is also filled with
angst.
Due to a lack of agreement between the players and owners, there is
a lockout and no collective bargaining agreement in place. This
means teams are heading into the draft unsure of how free agency
might shake out once an agreement is back in place. This could have
a mighty impact on drafting strategy.

For the Chiefs, this draft is critical. The right talent needs to
be brought in if the team is going to continue its trajectory of
ascension through the ranks of the NFL.
Will the Chiefs hit another home run in the first round in
2011?
With the Chief’s schedule being so much more difficult this
year than last, including 25% of the schedule being played against
the four best teams from last year, that ascending trajectory is in
jeopardy. The Chiefs have serious needs and cannot risk busts. Some
of those needs might best be filled through free agency, but since
no one knows where the top free agents are going, draft picks may
have to be diverted from the best talent to critical positions of
need.
Oh, the angst!
So, for many of us, we need a diversion from the diversion. What
better diversion than a casual geocaching event. Filling a room
with a group of people who, as we all know, collectively have next
to no angst. A collection of such centered and agreeable
individuals, such as is found in the local geocaching community,
should have a soothing influence on those who are overloaded with
Arrowhead Angst or any of the other forms of angst we are inundated
with today.
Join us at Hometown. We will be seated separately, but we will not
be in the meeting room.
At the time of publication of this event, buffet for the evening is
in the neighborhood of $10.
All are invited to attend. Yes, even Broncos fans.
And for those of you new to the community that are afraid there
might be too much football talk and not enough geocaching talk,
fear not. We have never once had that issue at an event here in
Kansas City. Come on out and join us for Arrowhead Angst.
