Geocache Description:

A smallish cache on a pleasant woodland walk. The path is good and level and circular walks can be taken from either Woodborough, Lambley or Lowdham directions.

Ploughman's Wood is situated on the east-west ridge that runs between Lambley and Woodborough. It is mainly an oak/ash woodland, with some hazel, holly, field maple and beech. In April, anenomes cover the woodland floor with bluebells coming shortly afterwards.

This is a smallish cache hidden just a couple of yards from the edge of the footpath. An ancient rhyme will help the curious traveller to find it:

Years ago I grandly stood,
Strong and proud for all to see,
Watching o'er Ploughman's Wood
But little now remains of me.

Though my strong body now is gone,
My spirit here remains behind,
Come now here and look upon,
This gift I leave for you to find.
