Many years ago, we used to make a weekly drive past this location. My son would frantically start clawing at the restraints on his carseat as soon as we would draw near. While anyone who knows me would agree that I am a firm believer in setting consistent limits, I am also a firm believer in encouraging inquisitiveness, curiosity, investigation, and inspiration.
As long as he asked politely and could have the self-restraint to not free himself from said carseat before I'd had a chance to pull over and come to a complete stop, we would get out and walk this stretch of Stony Point Road ogling the vast array of retired farm equipment that had been put out to pasture. Walking this road hand in hand with a toddler probably doesn't put me up for a nomination for mother of the year, but how do you resist that level of enthusiasm and the conversations that ensued?
Watch for traffic. Pull over to a safe spot on the side street and then look for the cache please. And always wear your seatbelt!
My child shares the first name of another local cacher who also shares his love of all things tractor. It would be a lovely gesture to give him a wee chance of being first to find on this one.
