| There is a "Nine Digit Number", where the numbers 1 to 9 are used only once. |
Let each digit be represented by these letters: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H & I.
If you don't know what that number is, here are the four rules to find it: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. The "Secret Number" represented by "ABCDEFGHI" must be divisible by nine.
2. If you delete the last digit of "I", the remainder must be divisible by eight.
3. If you then remove the next digit of "H", the remainder must be divisible by seven.
4. And so on, until the very last remaining digit of "A" is divisible by one. |
| NOTE: The "Nine Digit Number" you seek is neither 123456789, nor 987654321. |
