Geocache Description:

Located at the Madison County Nature Trail on Green Mountain. Small plastic container with log only, bring a pen. Replace as found. Please be respectful of the area. Open 7am to sunset 7 days a week. Hidden with permission from friendly rangers and the local cat. The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Please read below for details.

I walked this trail for a very long time before I even noticed this plaque. It is very interesting and a part of our history. While I was researching information for my Church Tour Wherigo Cache I came across some of this information. I find their tactics very interesting. If it is covered up for the winter to protect it, please look at the picture posted. From the coordinates you will see a plaque telling the history of the item located here. The cache is not at this location. You will need to read the information on the plaque and find the year found in this sentence below. Use the year to fill in the blanks for the new coordinates to the actual cache.
