the cache is near a sculpture, which marks the completion of the Bellaghy Community Regeneration Improvement Special Programme, was unveiled on Thursday 2nd April 2009 by the Nobel Prize winning poet Seamus Heaney.
The bronze life size sculpture is entitled the ‘Turfman’ and has was created by Scottish artist David Annand as an interpretation of the Nobel Laureate’s literary work ‘Digging’. The artwork will promote the area as the birthplace of Seamus Heaney and the inspiration for the famous poem.
