Aussie Lingo Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

90%Angel: Went to check on this cache yesterday only to find the path 'in' is strewn with lots of large branches, a fallen tree, and blackberries starting to grow up around them.
As the Grass can get very high here, I feel it would be too much of a saftey hazard to attempt to reach the cache so I decided to Archive this one.

Thanks to all who enjoyed the puzzle and found the cache.

Geocache Description:

I really find Aussie Lingo fastinating~ every time I visit Oz, I'm taken back by their unique 'slanguage' and can't help but wonder about some of it's origins. .. they can have several meanings for the same word...a real mix of English (as in Bloke) Aboriginie (many of the names of towns) and Aussie Slang (Sheila?) Hope you have fun with this puzzle...and learn a wee bit about the fastinating Land Down Under in the process~

...After Chuckin a sickie, I decided to head out to a Billabong in the Outback for the day. I told me mate to ‘Ring me’, but Im thinkin he’s buggered after last night hangin out with those ‘Crazy Canadians at Ninderry’, he’s more n’ likely rotten. I grabbed my Eskie, along with some damper, flake, a sangor, bikkies and a cuppla tinnies.

A brief stop off at the Servo and me Ute was ready to go. I picked me self up some lollies for the drive beyond the black stump. Emma Chisset? Me asks the clerk. That’ll be three Quid says he. ‘Crickey' that’s Bloody Exy mate, I says I took a quick look at my Bluey, ....Ahh shoot, ...smacking me self of the forehead, 'I spit the dummy'..... what a Dill, I forgot me togs and me swag and Billy!...what a ‘galah’ I thinks to me self,. No point in Whingen about it now,.....

...the Arvo was lookin good, if all goes well I’ll try n grab some Yabbies while I’m out... Although it’s ‘A long way from the Snowies’ I decides to go on a walk-a-bout to find a good spot for the Cache..the mozzies were as bad as the 'Mozzies at Myalup' and I find me self doin the good ol Aussie Salute more than times than I can count.. Rounding a corna a 'Cormorant' suddenly breaks through the water of the Billabong right in bloody fronta me.. a big watersnake in it’s beak. I thought for a moment I was gonna Cark it me ticka was poundin so fast! Think I better get me out a Heart-Starter I says to meself as I dig a tinnie out me Bluey. A bit o scoutin about and I saw it,.... the perfect spot, I was Gobsmacked..... That’s a real Corker! I thought., it’ll do just fine.

G’day mate! I hears from outta nowhere...Looking up me sees this old Kungarakany comin down the path twards me. Said he’d just had a Bingle down the road a ways in the Billabong and wanted to know if I had a bush telly All he had on were budgie smugglers and a singlet. A gust of wind came up all of a sudden, 'hang on to your Akubra'. I says to im...I could see he was soaked through, poor dero, he was in dire need of some daks.

Sittin 'down by the Billabong', I threw me trap in and had some Yabbies in no time. Goodonya ...not bad for a Banana Bender he says t’ me. We shared a bite and although he kind of took to ear-bashing, it was better than eating with the flies. He was a real drongo if I ever saw one, said he was headin for his Humpie... I gave him me Damper and Matilda, hopeing he’d be off leavin me to get down to business. Ahh, thanks heaps mate, ‘Hoo-roo’ he says, as he gets himself together then headed off muttering something in Laragiya I placed the Cache with great satisfaction. Now that’s a fair dinkum geo-spot if I ever saw one I says to me self...
