By Ome-kaido, there is a temple painted Bright Red that is dedicated to Inari.
Inari was a God of Agriculture.
This Inari Temple was established here in 1849.
It was moved to this location because of the expansion of Ome-kaido.
Please bring a pen! Watch for the cars!
青梅街道沿いに、鮮やかな朱塗りの堂が特長の赤稲荷の社があります。
嘉永2年（1849）に京都の伏見稲荷より勧請し、元は近くにあった屋敷神だった様ですが、青梅街道の拡張に併せてこの地へ移転したとの事です。
稲荷は、古代に大陸から渡来してきた豪族秦氏の守り神と言われています。
元々は、農耕の神で「稲生（いねなり）」から「稲荷（いねに）」、「いなり」に転化した様です。
