Sydney Steel Plant Coke Ovens

Coke Ovens Department with the Lower Plant in the background.
Raised building with the long shaft sits on top of the Battery of Ovens.
Large building in the foreground is the by-products building.
Steam is coming from the Quencher where hot coke is water-cooled.
Coke is used as a flux in the Blast Furnace in making iron.
