Geocache Description:

Saturday January 15th, 2011. 4.00-7.00 @ Kings Head, Llangyfelach Road, Treboeth.

A chance to come in from the cold and damp that January usually brings and instead chat and eat with friends (otherwise known as like-minded nutters). Hopefully the event is late enough that everyone can cache while the light lasts, but early enough to eat together and get home before we turn into pumpkins.

The event is also a chance to show geocoins that are too precious to send out travelling. Please feel free to bring coins just to show off (activated or not), to be discovered or to send out. There will be a box for TBs and GCs for travel. If you have coins you wish to show off but then take home again, please hold and monitor them yourself. It would be useful to let people know if they have been activated and are therefore available for discovery or not.

Of course, if you prefer - just turn up and say hello. The more the merrier!

The pub have said that we may use the function room without charge since (hopefully) there will be plenty of us eating. The function room is quite seperate from the main bar, so feel free to bring children if you feel comfortable. The function room is also wheelchair accessible.

Please log your intentions as with other events of this kind: let us know how many people and whether you will be eating or not. There are two menus available as images at the bottom of this listing. I am also told the pub offer veggie burgers (with chips and onion rings - if you want to know the price I can tell you) in addition to the two dishes marked vegetarian.

There is a large free car park next to the pub.

Edit 09.01.11: An update on the details for Saturday:

There will be two new caches published on Saturday morning, both within a mile of the event. One is a traditional and one a puzzle. Hopefully that will give enough time for everyone to print the details and such.

There will be a chance to help raise a few pennies for the Mega Fund in two ways. First a fabulous tombola organised by Mollyjak and second a 50/50 raffle, as suggested by Von Horst (the money raised will be split 50:50 to the prize winner and the Mega Fund). We'll draw a winner at about half past six.

There will also be a Geocaher Bingo competition for a little novelty prize. Entry will be free and it will be a good excuse to chat to someone new.

And of course there will be lots of lovely coins to gawp at. Some are logged into the event already.
