Geocache Description:

This is a Night Cache - Read the description before attempting! Also read the last paragraph if you are new to night caches *** :-)

For those that dare the night, this trek through the dark and dank forest will be sure to raise the hackles of even the most hardy of souls. Using your light stick, your journey starts at the "Yellow Gates of Creepy Hollow". Head into the park and look for the telltale "pathway" and beware of the roving packs of wild 3 horned dogs and the ever present night owls that will be watching your every move... waiting patiently for a chance to swoop down out of the darkness. Stick close to the trail…. the quicksand is very deep... also the paths are shared with horses so watch your step :-) NOTE: There may be some muddy areas following any precipitation so choose appropriate footwear.

1) Stick to the trails... no need to go off them as we cannot be responsible for those that dare... remember the quicksand!

2) Don't rush. The walk is not too long but it will get those muscles loosened up nicely for the feast.

3) Stealth can and will be an asset on this journey so keep the noise to a minimum :-)

4) Follow the marked pathway until you see the TWO EYES of the Gargoyle. He "oversees" and guards the hidden cache location below. Use your geo-senses for a quick find INSIDE.

5) With respect to your fellow cachers following closely in your footsteps, please replace the cache as you found it.

6) For the most expeditious return to the “Yellow Gates of Creepy Hollow”, continue along the trail and make the first right turn :-) Any other route will eventually return you back…. I hope :-) .

*** New to Night Caching? We use Fire Tacks Trail Markers for the route and the best way to sight these markers and get the most reflectivity, is to hold your flashlight at eye level. If you hold it lower down by your side, the reflectivity is reduced and may/will become invisible. When we see folks posting that they can't even find the first one then this is a possible cause.
