Treasure Chest (fka Red Box) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cbarman: Time to put this one to bed...if Ms. Deb can't flush this one out, then either the undergrowth, the critters, or the muggles that (dunno know how) find their way back here and taken my treasure and run. Perhaps something fresh (and smaller and "less red") in the future...LOL

Geocache Description:

*** 12/15/11 Update - Seems that someone found a fancy for the "Red Box" and has since claimed it as their own. I have since replaced the cache with a small treasure chest that I had been saving for another location in town. Hopefully, the natural camo on the new container will keep the same "away from muggle eyes" for the forseeable future . ***

Wow...the movie rental industry certainly has evolved. Many a neighborhood retail center now exhibits dark space that was formerly occupied by the likes of Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. New to the horizon (and devoid of over-priced rentals, candy, and miscellaneous other paraphernalia that needed not be in a place whose main purpose was to provide DVDs for rental) are small kiosks (RedBox; Movie Cube; Blockbuster Video) that, for a small fee, provide you with an appreciable selection of new (and sometimes obscure) rentals to choose from. You can now provide a family with an evening of entertainment for less than $5!

I've decided to join the fray, and clean some of our family's DVD library at the same time. Seems that we (my kiddos in particular) have acquired a mixed (and sometimes odd) variety of DVDs over the past 10 years - many of which were either watched once, or never at all! And now it's my time to share the same with you.

The cache container consists or an ammo box that is stocked with approx. 10 DVDs. First come, first served - I just don't want any of them them back! (hee-hee). No access (don't attempt it either) from I-64 or the nearby off ramp. Ample parking within 150' of the cache (both from the east and the west)...you decide how you want to attack the hide.

Some simple ground rules for this cache:
(1) if you intend to take a DVD, plan on bringing one to share (no late fees/no returns/no snotty kid asking you if you'd like to buy a $3.00 box of Jr. Mints)
(2) no titles stronger than a PG-13 rating
(3) odd-ball "check-ins" are preferred
(4) when logging your find, please include the title of the DVD that you took and that of which you left behind...your efforts will make this a fun cache to seek & find.

Oh yeah...a personal visit to this Red Box won't cost you a dime, but rather just a couple of minutes of your time.
