Your are looking for a micro
cache, please use stealth as there will most likely be muggles near
by. The town of
Mackenzie was named after the famous explorer Alexander Mackenzie,
who camped near the townsite on his epic journey to the Pacific in
1793. The District of Mackenzie was virtually carved out of the
wilderness in the mid 1960’s to service large pulp and lumber
manufacturing facilities. Forest industry operations continue as
the primary economic engine of Mackenzie. Mackenzie is home to the World’s
Largest Tree Crusher. This giant 175-ton machine was used in the
1960’s to clear non-merchantable timber from the Rocky
Mountain Trench prior to the creation of Williston
Lake. Once in
Mackenzie, you don’t have to travel far to experience the
natural unspoiled wilderness that provides ample opportunities for
hiking, mountain biking, camping, wildlife viewing, photography and
GEOCACHING!
