Geocache Description:

A very pleasant walk through a country estate with public walkways, can be quite muddy and slippy in parts.

The cache is not within the Obelisk area, please do not enter this fenced off area thank you.

This is an Obelisk to Captain William Home (Lord Dunglass) erected by his father Alexander the IX Earl of Home after his sons untimely death, dying from wounds received at the Battle of Guilford in America on 15th March 1781 not passing away until Dec 1781 aged XXVI, he was serving with the Coldstream Guards.

This is our very first cache it contains something from each member of the family. Enjoy :-)
