Geocache Description:

Groundspeak is encouraging all able-bodied cachers to get out there and cache on Sunday, October 10th, to celebrate 10-10-10 and 10 years of geocaching.
This event will hopefully encourage you to join us.

Dust off your cameras and join us on a Geocaching Photography Hunt!
The event starts on Sandymount Strand at 10:10 on Sunday morning, and ends up in Laragh, Co. Wicklow.

At the start location, cachers will be given instructions, and will then need to head off in teams towards Laragh. On the way there are stops that need to be made, and items that need to be photographed. Points will be given for every photo, with the best of each item receiving bonus points. On arrival in Laragh, points will be totted up, and a winner will be declared.

To partake in this event, you will need:

  • A GPS
  • A digital camera, with removable memory card
  • A car (although people will need to team up)


At the final location there is a chance to have some lunch and a chat while we wait for everyone to arrive and tot up the points. After this there is plenty of time to pick up some of Wicklow's great caches nearby.
