Location: Scotts Run Nature Preserve in Great Falls, Virginia. Terrific trails for people and dogs, beautiful overlooks of the Potomac, and a trail down to the river itself.
This is the NEW location of my original Scotts Run cache. In response to popular demand, I have moved it to a slightly less traveled trail (one with a great view of the Potomac from above), and replaced the container with a larger one. The cache is now in a clear Rubbermaid 1.2 gallon container with a white lid. Inside is a log book, pencil, a photo of me (so you can see what cute dog I am), and my trademark Virginia state quarter. (Also some things that folks left in the original cache: a lizard rubber stamp, and an Olympic pin.) The cache is inside the hollow of very large fallen tree. (Thanks to everyone who left such nice notes in the logbook at the original site.)[NOTE: this was the description in Feb. 2001; obviously the contents have changed over time.]
