After the rain,
the empty mountain
at dusk
is full of autumn air.
A bright moon
shines between the pines;
The clear spring water
glides over the rocks.
Bamboo leaves rustling —
the washer-girls bound home.
Water lilies swaying —
a fisher-boat goes down.
Never mind that
spring plants are no longer green.
I am here to stay
my noble friends!
(Wang Wei)

About an hour to get to this one from the Wicklow Gap car park but much better to pick it up as part of one of the hikes indicated in the maps above. I have it marked as a three star for terrain which would more or less apply if the short circuit above (length 11K with total ascent of 500m) is chosen. The longer circuit is quite a significant hike of 21K with a total ascent of just over 1000m. Obviously the star rating would be greater for this and you would need to allow about 5/6 hours in that case.
I have also indicated other caches in the area so if these are also chosen then you could add signicantly to the times and climbs indicated here.
It is worth noting that if the longer route is taken then stunning views down the Vale of Glendasan, the Vale of Glendalough and the Glenmalure Valley would all be available in the one hike, weather permitting of course! It should also be possible to view most of the Wicklow mountains from at least one angle which makes this one of the best long hikes in all the Garden County.

From Mountain Views:
Camaderry Mountain, Wicklow County

(Ir. Céim an Doire [OSNB], 'step/pass of the oak-wood')
Height: 698 metres OS 1/50k Mapsheet: 56 for top

Camaderry is the 114th highest summit in Ireland.

Do not start the trek without all the proper mountain rain gear, waterproof boots and the guidance material, compass, map, GPSr with mapping etc.

Please note that all parts of this cache are hiked at your own risk. The cache owner takes no responsibility of any sort for any reason including accidents or mishaps.

Please be aware that cars parked in areas close to walking trails are vulnerable and they can be vandalised or stolen. Unfortunately this is an ongoing problem which is extremely difficult to solve, so there is a risk involved. I have heard recently that many hiker groups are parking at the nearest population centres and getting taxis to and from the start points at very little expense.

Please observe the country code to the best of your ability. Local landowners often generously allow access to upland areas across or through parts of their private property. Please, please be conscious of this and return the courtesy by keeping all gates closed, immediately and not on your way back!. Please use the gates where appropriate but if you have to climb over them then use the hinged side ONLY.
Please do not cause any damage of any sort to fences or barriers along the way.
