Geocache Description:

A short multi-stage cache that will take you around Royal Victoria Park, Bath, leading to a small clip-lock plastic container cache, large enough for small travelbugs, geocoins and some small items of swag.
Please be extra wary of muggles when retrieving and replacing the cache as the park is infested with them and the final cache site does not offer much cover.

You start this cache hunt facing west, with the obelisk in front of you and the gate to the Royal Crescent behind you. The obelisk was first dedicated to Princess Victoria, then latterly to Queen Victoria and Prince Consort Albert. You are looking for a date in this format: [mmm dd yyyy]. Take the year and call this ABCD.
Turn to the north and walk across the road, past the large tree and up to the house. This is the park warden's house. What is the number on the door? Call this E.
Now go to:
N51 2(C-E).(A+E)B(E-A)
W02 22.C(E+C)(B-A).

You need to find a small stone memorial. The memorial has two dates on it. Call the first date FGHJ.
Now go to:
N51 2(J+F).(C-J)(H-E-J)G
W02 22.H(H+C)D

You are looking for bench with a dedication plaque on it. How many letters in each of the person's names? call this K,L.
Take a seat, enjoy the view, the cache is somewhere out there waiting for you...
Now go to:
N51 23.(K-F)(K+F)(G-K)
W02 22.(L+A)(K+L)(L-J)

Looking north, you should see a structure in front of you. There are some letters on the structure. How many letters are there?
Do a checksum of the number (add all the digits until you get a single digit, so if the count was 12, the checksum would be 1+2=3) Call this M.

Now go find the cache at:
N51.2(H-J).(K-J)M(L+D)
W02 2(K-E).(K+J)(M+C-L)(E+J+M-L)

Hope you enjoyed the tour of the park. If you have time and the sun is shining, reward yourself with an ice-cream from the ice-cream van near the playground, then why not try Jenny&James' lovely multi at the Great Dell (GC1RVC2)
