This hike is one of my favorites, and has some of the best views in the area. The round-trip distance is 9 miles, and the elevation gain is 3,200ft. Since the lookout is at 6900 ft, the trail will be snow covered from mid summer to October, although those with experience in snow travel can attempt it earlier. The last push to the summit is an easy boulder scramble. Follow the cairns through the rocks, they mark the shortest and easiest route to the summit. You can sleep in the lookout, but it is on a first come, first serve basis. While you're visiting, don't forget to sign the lookout's register! The trail can get very crowded, so use stealth when retrieving the cache, and please rehide it well.
