Geocache Description:

A black tube near the weir on the River Derwent to the north of Alvaston. One of several caches along the riverside path.

This is just off the Sustrans National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 6, which runs from Derby to York (via Nottingham). The riverside path is very popular with cyclists and pedestrians so stealth will be required.

The river near the weir used to be a popular location for swimming, but, following an unfortunate fatality several years ago, it is now fenced off from the riverside path. Please be careful if searching with youngsters near the river.
