This is just a two stage cache, I’m getting my feet wet so to speak. The cache is big enough for a log only, so bring your own writing instrument.
Some cachers in the Counties of Lambton, Perth, Huron, and Bruce, set up the C.C. Series to get people to visit their local cemeteries. We thought it was an excellent idea to follow their lead and set up a series in Grey County, which is called G.C.C. Series.
As genealogists we feel this is a way to honour and respect our ancestors. Thanks for the great idea! Anyone wanting to add one in other regions of Grey County please do so, just enter G.C.C. Series and the name of their cache. These caches will take you to some large and some small cemeteries to focus on the history, family and friends who have gone before us.
Please, always be respectful in these areas. This is a non-active cemetery, so please have respect and absolutely NO NIGHT CACHING PLEASE!!
This cemetery is listed as being at Concession 1 NDR Lot 16 - Bentinck Township West. The name on the fence says St. George Cemetery with dates of 1847 to 1968. That is all the info I can find out about it.
The coordinates listed will not lead you to the cache but to a grave stone. What you have to do is, find the age of this person when he died and add the numbers together. (treat them as single digits)
From this number, subtract 8. The number that is left is subtracted from the North Co-ordinates.
Next, add all the numbers that are in the date of his death together. (treat them as single digits) To this number add 22. Using this number, subtract it from the West Co-ordinates.
The resulting co-ordinates will take you to the cache.
