This is a series of caches that will start you on a 2.28 mile hike up to beaver dams. The hike is going up in elevation along Tinker Brook. The trail is a snow machine trail, no vehicles or ATV are alowed. Park down on Corbin St. Respect the neighbors. Bring a pen. Enjoy the plentiful wildlife.
Tinker Brook Goal Mine
This cache is located in area that folklore has many times claimed to be a source of Gold! I can say that the brook does have areas of black sand [a so called indicator of gold]. You can read a little more on this area by following this link (visit link) The cache is a small cylinder 2-1/2"x3-1/2"
The beaver dams are also a good spot to fish, as a teenager, some fifty years ago I always would get my limit fishing the brook and beaver dam. I must say that logging in recent years has changed the landscape. Enjoy the hike, the views especially the rocky ledges of Mt Jericho [a future site of a wind farm]
