Pocket of Sourlands
Located of of Old 518, easy parking for a quick scramble and
grab.
Area has no trail but hoping from rock to rock will get you
there.
Are will be muddy during wet times.
Small container the size of a roll of quarters has an
Alexandrite
(gem that changes colors in indoor and outdoor light) for the
FTF
Sourlands are home to numerous neotropical migrant birds which
inhabit only contiguous forests; to diabase boulders which harken
back to Triassic-era magma intrusions; to numerous rare plant
species including pawpaw trees, wild ginseng, and showy
orchid
species including the barred owl, bobcat, Cooper’s hawk,
grasshopper sparrow, savannah sparrow, upland sandpiper and wood
turtle. Save the Sourlands.
