Geocache Description:

YOU WILL NEED A WHERIGO PLAYER TO SEEK THIS CACHE.

title

Ever see a troll snap a human thigh bone and suck out the marrow? If you have, you'll understand why so few have ever sought this treasure. For centuries the Forest Wirth has been ruled by trolls. Three of 'em. And not just your run-of-the-mill fat lazy trolls that lie around under bridges takin' whatever tidbits they can get from the weak. These are troll lords, the nastiest, biggest, strongest trolls this side of the great river.

In the past few years, though, some brave (read: crazy) trappers have managed to work the northern side of the forest, and a few daring war parties have actually tried to rid the forest of the troll lords. No one has ever seen those warriors again. Maybe you want a turn? A chance to be a hero? A chance for riches beyond your dreams? If you do, head to the Outpost in Forest Wirth. It starts there.

This is a Wherigo cache. You can download the file for it right here. You'll need a GPS or smart phone capable of running Wherigo carts, or find someone who has such a GPS. More information on Wherigo caches can be found here.

Despite the ominous warning, this Wherigo is a straight-line adventure. You can't "die," so you shouldn't have to go back to the start. The idea is to have a fun adventure hike through Wirth Park. All in all you'll walk about 1.5 miles through the woods. With the walking and the reading and finding, I'd think it'll take you about an hour and a half to complete the cache. I hope kids will enjoy it, but the terrain and text might get a bit tricky for the very young. Having said that, you can get to almost all locations via trails. If you can find them.

Lastly, please observe park hours: 6am to 10pm.

Disclaimer: This is my first Wherigo, created via the Earwigo program. In many ways this is a trial run for me to test how the program and language works. If this goes well, I hope to create more complex Wherigos in the future. Although the cart has been tested on various devices, Wherigos are prone to crashing, randomly erasing your quest, and doing other unexpected things. I apologize in advance if this happens to you, but I would appreciate your feedback so I can fix any problems. Thanks!

Have fun!

Congratulations to Warriors psubrian, spstanley, and sparkyfry for their daring FTF adventure!
