Geocache Description:

This puzzle cache is inspired by my passion for British Sign Language. My first encounter watching BSL interpreters signing songs and speech to the deaf back in 2006, left the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. It’s a beautifully, expressive, picture language and I was completely in awe and addicted.

Since then I have gained my Level 1 and 2 and set up a local group where BSL can be practised amongst deaf and hearing people who are learning to sign. Even though BSL is the first language for some 50000 UK users, it was only legally recognised as a British language in March 2003. Deaf charities continue to campaign for further legal protection so that users can have access to the same services and information that the hearing world enjoys so easily.

I work in financial services and have been able to assist deaf customers. I’ve also used the skill during being a poll station clerk, assisted in my church and been part of a BSL presentation to a ladies breakfast.

I wanted this cache placed where you can ‘Lean on the gate’ and be in awe of a beautiful view, just as I was in awe, when I first encountered a beautiful view of BSL.

The above co-ordinates are bogus

Sum of North digits are 23

Sum of West digits are 16

Cache is a screw top container wrapped in black tape (a sort of camoflage) containing a logbook and a few swaps and is big enough for Travel Bugs.

please note! GPS signal was awful, took loads of readings, had to settle on the closest, so about 15 feet leeway needed. Will probably redo cache when tree cover has gone...and weather improves!
