35mm film canister hidden near the Brick Lane Music Hall. Pavement access to site and should be within wheelchair reach.
You might think this should be 5 miles to the west but there's no hemispherical error here... the name reflects the previous location of this venue. Had passed this building many times on the DLR before finding out the history. Having formerly been St Mark's Church, Silvertown (Samuel Sanders Teulon 1861-63) it is now home to a music hall. The Victorian Gothic brick structure is impressive and the reason why a 1981 fire didn't do more damage, amusing: "had it not been for the weight of pigeon-muck on the roof which fell and quickly extinguished the flames" The cache is designed to be fairly quick to find. Mind out for speedy cyclists - think this bit of road is popular for those who have been through the Woolwich Foot Tunnel.
