シンガーソングライターの松任谷 由実は知っていますよね？
愛称はユーミン（Yuming）とみんなは呼びます
彼女の出身は八王子で老舗の呉服屋のお嬢様でした、
デビュー当初は荒井由実（あらい ゆみ）の名で活動していたましたが
1976年11月29日に松任谷正隆と結婚して１９７８年から松任谷 由実の名前でアルバムを出し始めました。
八王子出身で横田基地や立川基地でも遊んでいたらしく三多摩が舞台になった歌も結構あります。
1975年6月20日に発売された『COBALT HOUR』（コバルト・アワー）
Side Bの4曲目にある”雨のステイション”はこの西立川駅を歌った歌です。
駅を出て昭和記念公園入り口に向かって右側に歌碑があります。
西立川駅の発車メロディにも採用されています、ぜひ発車メロディのメロディーも聞いて下さい。
