The Geo-gnome Project has been initiated with
the aim of
creating a community of gnomes which represent the caching
teams
who visit the area. In order to achieve this goal, please take
a
couple of moments to read the following before leaping into
the
geomobile and heading up the Ferguson Valley.
Some of the many residents of Gnomesville.
There are a couple of steps that need to be taken so that
the
cache can be completed in keeping with its intention, rather
than
just being another addition to your tally.
Step One
–
Visit your local Red Dot, King Kong, Reject Shop or the like,
and
purchase a cheap garden gnome that best captures the spirit of
your
team. Place your team name prominently on it and take a
photograph
for your log entry.
Step Two
–
Leap into your geomobile and head for Gnomesville in the heart
of
the Ferguson Valley. Use your GPS to locate GZ (quite
literally),
extract the cache and sign the log. Please be sure to replace
the
cache carefully.
To ensure that other gnomes are not man handled (many
are very fragile)
this is the one you are looking for.
The site of GZ has been chosen so as to reduce the
possibility
of any gnomes being damaged by less delicate cachers. This is
why
it is away from the main community. It has also been placed so
that
Blind Freddy could find it in the dark...you’ll see what
I
mean when you get there.
Step Three
–
Select a patch of real estate in the vicinity of GZ and place
your
team’s Geo-gnome. Log your find and post a photo of
your
Geo-gnome with your entry.
The cache itself is not suitable for swaps and trackables.
There
is another cache nearby that they will fit in.
