With warmer weather approaching, it's time to Play Ball! With this in mind we have placed a cache between a baseball field and a softball field (although not being used as a softball field right now, it once was).
Major League Baseball season will soon be underway, culminating in the World Series in October. During baseball's glory years in the 1940's and 1950's, frequent competitors in this Fall Classic were the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees. Opposing shortstops in six of those World Series were the Dodgers' Pee Wee Reese and the Yankees' Phil Rizzuto, both elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
This baseball-themed cache will serve as a tribute to these historic Dodger-Yankee clashes. When you find this cache you must sign either the Brookly Dodger log book or the New York Yankee log book. Pee Wee Reese will serve as the honorary captain for the Dodgers and Phil Rizzuto is the New York Yankee honorary captain. There are two FTF prizes: a card signed by Pee Wee Reese for Dodger FTF and a card signed by Phil Rizzuto for Yankee FTF. (Geo- and Baseball- ethics would imply that you can't grab 'em both if you are the first one there.)
