Kenfig National Nature Reserve - the snail is now a tortoise as he overtook the snail LOL
The cache is a micro but hopefully you will understand why when you find it. [:)] there is a pencil.
Glamorgan’s largest natural lake, Kenfig Pool, is set on the edge of this beautiful area, with spectacular views from Sker beach across Swansea Bay to the Gower. It is one of the finest Wildlife habitats in Wales and one of the last remnants of a huge dune system that once stretched along the coast of Southern Wales from the River Ogmore to the Gower peninsula. The reserve is home to unique wild orchids, as well as insects and wildlife. Kenfig is one of the most important sites in Britain for nature conservation.
There is an Information Centre for children of all ages, and a shop for leaflets, books and conservation gifts. Stroll along the boardwalk and stop at one of the bird hides overlooking the 70-acre freshwater pool, a favourite refuge for wildfowl at all times of the year. Wardens are often on site to answer any queries you may have.
This is a series of four caches placed on Kenfig Nature reserve - with thanks to Mr. David Carrington for allowing us to place them.
All paths we used were already there when we placed these caches. Some areas are wetlands but we walked them wearing trainers.
The Difficulty/Terrain is for the four caches.
Please call into the Centre and say 'Hello' and tell them you are geocaching!! Have a look around ( and there are toilets inside).
